woah this genuinely blew me away. i don't see body horror being spoken about as a genre very often, so reading this unlocked an entirely new perspective for me. i will definitely be giving brother maternitas a read after this piece 🤍

sometimes you come across something so deliciously engaging you want to sink into it with you teeth just so you could get the most out of it. so informing and well-written. thank you.

Wow!! This is so great, I loved the centrality of the theme of shame being the minds work for patriarchy. I did an essay as a part of my MA, also on gendered body horror in Thai film Nang Nak, you might also enjoy!!

This is an amazing piece Zoe. I especially liked the way you worded "men don't leak after all". Also, have you read The Iliac Crest? You should check it out if not (it is a Morris Hawk favorite and reminds me a lot of this essay). Great job being talented and brilliant as always - your writing really made me think!

tysm!! i wrote this piece for a class called “gendered bodies,” so i really wanted to extend the discussion to gnc bodies :) the story was from a trans body horror anthology called “your body is not your body” so i was feeling super inspired
